Working Moms

The decision to go back to work is a reality for millions of moms. In 2002, 55% of mothers with infant children (under the age of 1) worked outside the home. Many moms at work face the decision between earning a paycheck or staying at home. We know that decision is hard so here are some resources to help you do what you feel God has asked you to do:

Work Options:
* Flex Time - some employers will allow you to set your schedule based on your needs.

* Compressed Work Week - This is more full-time work with hours squeezed into fewer days, giving you more days at home with your family. May cause increased fatigue too.

* Working from Home - Working from home is ideal for many moms because you are home to give attention to the people who mean the most to you and you are readily available should a crisis occur. Computer Programing, telephone work, accounting, and various other jobs can be performed from home as long as you have the needed equipment. Freelancing or starting your own business is another option.

Child Care Options:
Do not feel limited to traditional daycare centers. There are other options depending on your needs and finances:
* Church sponsored preschool
* Church sponsored mother's day out programs
* Family members who are willing to babysit
* Hired part-time college students
* Friends who will trade baby-sitting time
* Ask around at church - you will be amazed what is out there.
